The Day Gogo Chose Us πΎ
Finally Meeting Him
After days of thinking, preparing, and going back and forth in our minds, we finally set up a meeting with the rescuer.
We didn’t know exactly what to expect.
But the moment we reached her place and saw Gogo for the first time, something shifted.
He was smaller than we had imagined… and he was limping slightly.
Our hearts sank instantly — and without realizing it, we were already worried about him.
A Tiny Scare
Seeing such a tiny kitten struggle, even a little, was enough to make us anxious.
The rescuer told us they had already taken him to the vet and even got an X-ray done. There had been a minor injury suspected, but thankfully, nothing serious.
That brought some relief.
He was no longer just a kitten we had come to meet — he already felt like part of our story.
The Moment He Chose Us
And then something happened that we didn’t expect.
We hadn’t even fully processed everything yet when Gogo quietly walked up to us.
No hesitation. No fear.
He climbed straight into my husband’s lap… and started playfully biting him, as if he already belonged there.
We didn’t have to convince him.
We didn’t have to call him over.
He chose us.
And in that one small, unplanned moment, all our overthinking disappeared.
We just looked at each other and knew.
We weren’t deciding anymore.
The decision had already been made — by him.
Bringing Him Home
We spoke to the rescuer, collected his medical records, and understood his routine and feeding habits.
Everything felt like a blur after that.
Because emotionally, we were already attached.
He was so tiny… he could fit inside a shoebox.
And that’s exactly how we brought him home.

His First Few Hours at Home
The moment we entered the house, Gogo slowly began exploring.
Every corner, every gap — his curiosity took over.
We showed him his litter box, and almost instinctively, he seemed to understand.
After a while, he disappeared under the sofa and stayed there quietly.
Learning His World
That’s when we learned something important.
Cats, when they enter a new place, are often scared. They look for the smallest, safest hiding spots.
We didn’t know what toys he liked yet.
We didn’t know what would comfort him.
We were still figuring out…
Just like he was figuring out.
Our First Night as Cat Parents
That night felt surreal.
He slept peacefully.
We didn’t.
What if he needs us?
What if he’s scared?
We stayed awake most of the night — not out of stress, but out of care.
And somehow, we didn’t even mind it.
The Morning After
The next morning, it was like he had fully settled in.
Running around. Exploring. Playing.
And out of everything we could have possibly bought for him…
He chose a simple medicine bottle cap as his favorite toy.
Threads, tags, tiny objects — everything became a game.
We spent the whole day just watching him.
Smiling.
Because somewhere in between all of this…
It started to feel like he had always been here.
And Just Like That…
From a hesitant meeting…
To a quiet moment on a lap…
To a tiny kitten choosing his people…
Gogo had made his decision.
And in doing so, he made us a family.
But what we didn’t know then was…
Choosing each other was just the beginning.
Because the next few days would test us, teach us, and slowly shape us into the kind of pet parents we had only imagined becoming.
And that’s a story in itself. 🐾
