  • 5 shallots (onions), thinly sliced

  • 1 cup cooking oil of your choice

  • Salt


  • Thinely slice the shallots. Transfer the shallots to a plate in a single layer. Microwave for one minute. Dab excess moisture with a paper towel.
  • Add the shallots to a small pot along with the oil, enough to cover the shallots. On medium heat, fry for about 5-7 minutes. Remove immediately with a strainer when it begins to turn a light, golden grown. It will continue to cook once removed.
  • Transfer the shallots to a paper towel lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of salt.
