Dr. Stone Season 1 : What I learned
Today was Ganesh Chaturthi holiday at school. I started my day with a homa with my father and then I binge watched Dr. Stone Season 1. That is 24 full episodes in one day. Mom asked me what I learned. So I wrote this:
Dr. Stone is all about survival and building civilization again. It shows how one person’s idea can change everything as long as effort is put into it. The way Senku shaped the village into the Kingdom of Science is incredible.
Senku is the main protagonist in Dr. Stone. He is the founder of the Kingdom of Science, and this is what I have learnt from his qualities.
The way Senku thinks is what awes me. He thinks out the whole train of thought in his mind, and with clarity, he says what needs to be done. He is so clear about what he said that even the chief of the village listens to him. He doesn’t need to reconsider his words.
When Senku was petrified, his brain was still working. He was counting how much time it had been. This shows that he is always thinking. There is no time when we should not think.
When we don’t think, our brain shuts off, and it goes mindless. When he woke up he realized that he had to start civilization all over again. This is what I have learned from his journey.
To make the village come along with him, Senku had to sell his idea of “ The Kingdom of Science.” If he doesn’t sell his idea, nobody will listen to him and will just live their own life.
To be a leader, you must sell your idea in such a way that what seems dull to other people will now look bright to them. To build a kingdom, you must gather many people to make it up.
It is important to know everyone’s strengths and onboard them on the plan accordingly. When Senku wanted to take Magma along on the cave mission, he said so because Magma was strong and he would be able to haul many minerals.
Magma didn’t understand why everyone is important and said that the strong should rule over the weak, and thus, he should be the village chief instead of Senku.
Senku simply said that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and so everyone can do different things in society. If everyone were superstrong then nobody would know anything about science, and nothing would be made, and so everyone is valuable in their own way.
In every step, Senku has had to make a decisive decision, and if one decision is wrong, then that means that Senku will have to start all over again. This part of the story teaches me that life will always throw hurdles at you. You have to think on your feet at that moment. Otherwise, you will get confused and stuck between the hurdles.
Many people see science as a bore. But science is actually a whole new world in itself. Just knowing the difference between a poisonous plant and an edible one can help you survive. Knowing what starts a fire and what is needed and the science behind it will help you build a fire without any pyrite.
When you know about science and even if something would happen to all science, and only you know science. You can use that science to spark the fire of science in people’s eyes.
In the village, there was a place where Senku’s father had written down things for him. Had Senku’s father not written down all his knowledge for Senku, then Senku wouldn’t have been able to make a mobile phone, record, and many other interesting things, like gunpowder, which is essential for a war against Tsukasa.
Senku doesn’t just blurt out stuff or do small talk. He is very straightforward
in his manner of speech. He speaks very crisply and is very humorous. He communicates in as few words as possible to save both energy and breath. This is the ideal way to talk.
