Shrinathji, Rajasthan

We used to adore traveling but found ourselves stopped, first by Sabi’s birth and later due to Covid-19. But in 2022, we made the move. We embarked on a 4000 km journey across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

Our first pause was the well-known Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Generations of our family set foot here. We hadn’t made the trip in about 20 years. It was Sabi’s turn to experience this place. And of course, we got a good physical workout near the temple!

Here’s a quick fact: This idol wasn’t always in Nathdwara. Originally, it was at Govardhan hill, near Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. But in 1672, to protect it from the looming threat of temple destruction, it was moved to its current location. Most people who follow the Shrinathji deity come from the trading and business sectors.
