Weaves Of India

India is home to more than 136 unique weaves, mostly in the form of sarees. Know your weaves is an initiative to bring awareness in India (and globally) to preserve traditional weave and move towards sustainable living.

We aim to do this by documenting the origin of weaves, designs, weaving process, techniques, stories and using these to motivate traditional handloom weavers to continue their craft and encourage women to buy these heritage designs directly from weavers.
