Ambaji, Gujarat
We hiked 1000+ steps up the Ambaji hill, carrying a 5kg Mugdar, to reach a special temple.
Let’s dive a bit into the temple’s history: In South Asia, there are 51 Shakti Peeth temples. They span countries like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, to name a few. Each temple has a form of Goddess Shakti, symbolizing a part of Goddess Sati. The temple we visited is believed to house Goddess Sati’s heart, represented as a yantra.
In this temple, a ‘Sri yantra’ marks that significant spot. It’s dressed up like a goddess. But here’s the thing: you can’t directly see this yantra. It’s a way of worshiping the divine without form.
