About the walk
Gurugram Hub is collaborating with Soulful Safaris and our implementing partner Tradition, Heritage, Ecology (T.H.E.) to organise the Revolt of 1857- The Delhi Chapter Heritage Walk.
This heritage walk takes us through the landmarks in the old city of Delhi that held critical importance during the uprising of 1857, also known as the “First War of Independence.” The trail includes- Kashmere Gate, Nicholson Cemetery, British Magazine Memorial, St. James Church and more. The walk will focus on participants experiencing the heritage landmarks and helping in creating an interactive narrative to understand the erstwhile Shahjanabad’s episode of the revolt of 1857 – how it really began and gained momentum at the national level.
This Heritage Walk is an opportunity for all heritage enthusiasts to go beyond textbook knowledge and explore lesser known but significant heritage sites of Delhi.
