About the speaker: Julie Thekkudan is a leading women’s right and gender justice practitioner with over 18 years of experience in the development sector. She previously led the efforts for gender justice with Oxfam India. Currently, Julie is an independent practitioner working on capacity building for women’s rights, gender sensitization and prevention of sexual harassment at workplace. She is a campaigner, researcher, a trainer and an influencer on human rights. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi )and has worked with leading national & international organizations in this field.

- Bullying Vs Discriminatory Behaviour: There is a very thin line! Our inherent biases and can become a pattern and results in discriminatory behavior/practices and at times lead to sexual harassment as well!
- If seeking out help for confronting an issue of gender discrimination at the workplace, there are both formal and informal support networks like the first step is your HR Department, or develop some women group support internally. You should always be aware of your company’s policies and the committee on this issue!
- To overcome gender-bias: Believe in the power within you, power with other people, and power to change something to bring a difference.
